It’s so easy to fall into the habit of noticing negatives.

As a parent you might find yourself thinking and/or saying,

“They haven’t done this…”
“I wish they would…”
“Everywhere/Everyone is so (enter your own negative word here)”

When we fall into patterns of negative thinking, we often don’t even notice we’re doing it. Mindful practice can allow us that awareness of our thoughts and those patterns. And once we notice, we have a choice to change it.

Modelling out loud to your children that you are choosing to focus on the positives will give them an opportunity to do the same. In this video I talk about the benefits of journalling and writing down what is going well for you.

Try doing this activity together with your child so you can share your positives from that day.
